Flowering Plants that survive the full sun in the UAE

With 4 months of unrelenting heat in the summer in the Gulf, with humidity levels reaching 90 percent not many flowering plants survive the hot season. Many do reasonably well under the shade of tall trees like Neem and Millingtonia and Damas where they are still standing. However, most will wilt under the high humidity and need some serious shade. The ones that do really well in the peak summer are the wild Plumerias, and the wild Desert roses along with certain varieties of Jasmine, Tristellatia, and  Coral vine creepers. Some Alamanda varieties also do well but most plants require shade usually provided by the green net you see in nurseries and gardens. Peak summer would have temperatures reaching 50 degrees Celcius with 80- 90 percent humidity

So here is the list of flowering plants that take full sun in the peak summer and others that do well provided there is shade,

Tritellatia Creeper

Coral Vine or Mexican Vine creeper

Outdoor but in shade

Hybrid or the exotic Plumerias

Double petalled Desert Roses

Hibiscus Common Red ( Most of the other colors refuse to bloom in the scorching heat and need complete shade just to survive)

Bleeding Heart varieties

Rangoon creeper

Wild roses

Water lilies(part sun and part shade)
